
The hype meter is bursting with the new announcements delivered by tournament director and Shoryuken.com founder, Tom "inkblot" Cannon.
He basically confirms the rumours of 2000+ competitors in Super Street Fighter IV, doubling the bracket numbers from EVO 2009. This is perhaps the biggest open tournament in recent times, with players from over 20 countries.
EVO 2010 World Finals will feature:
* The world’s largest Super Street Fighter IV competition
* Competitors from over 20 countries (and counting)
* A guaranteed Super Street Fighter IV prize pool of $20,000 (and growing)
* Super Street Fighter IV payouts to the top 8 finishers
* Special appearance by Super Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono
* An all-star contingent of top Japanese players, including 2009 world champion Daigo Umehara, Tokido, and more.

Also other Japanese heavy hitters that are confirmed to attend: Dashio, Epsilon J, Momochi, Uryo, Kindevu, Gasshuku, Kyabetsu.. I'm sure a few more will sneak in as well.
A top8 full of Japanese players wouldn't surprise anyone at this rate.
